About

Friends have told me I'm not great at selling myself. The following was co-written by me and an AI chatbot which I've been feeding information about my personality so that it could help me tweak my Instagram bio.

Welcome to Glitchgrove.

Across the once-vibrant plains of the internet, a peculiar silence settles. Gone are the bustling digital gardens of GeoCities and countless other forgotten pioneers, their vibrant landscapes replaced by the sterile uniformity of social media walled gardens. Today, many congregate in this new landscape, mistaking sterile corporate uniformity for the boundaries of individual free expression. Information, once freely exchanged, now bows to the whims of monetization and virality. The rabbit holes, the pointless digital toys, the hidden corners waiting to be discovered — all have been clear-cut or buried beneath SEO garble.

The abandoned landscape left behind leaves me yearning for the internet's wild roots — a time where creativity bloomed organically, unburdened by the pressure to "go viral" or "optimize for engagement." Back then, the web resembled a collaborative garden, where users were free to nurture their own unique corners. The things that went viral in the early internet rose to the surface based on merit, not their creators' ability to game the system.

But a glimmer of hope remains. By cultivating our own digital gardens, we may be able to reclaim some of what was collectively lost. Here, the vines of untamed ideas can twist and climb, unconstrained by the shackles of external validation. This is where I choose to plant my seeds, nurturing a space for whatever comes next.
